In Tibetan Buddhism it is believed that there are those of us who are able to attain Enlightenment or Nirvana during this lifetime. These beings are given the title of “Arhat”. These beings are beacons for us all to know that Nirvana is attainable during this life. They have uprooted all ignorance from his or her mind, thereby eliminating all delusions and extinguishing the source of all contaminated and harmful activity. The term Arhat sometimes is translated as “Saint” or “Foe Destroyer”, for an they have overcome the greatest enemy to happiness – the inner poisons polluting the essentially pure nature of the mind.
